American contracts
”American contracts are way too long!” We often hear that comment – and that they are written in a complicated language and are impossible to understand. It is of course true that the American tradition of contract writing often leads to contracts that are longer than Danish business people – and Danish jurists and lawyers – are used to. And although Danes are generally good at English, the legal language used in American contracts is full of words and expressions that even those who speak and write English at a negotiation level are unfamiliar with.
Our Danish-American lawyers have more than 20 years of experience and expertise in advising Danish companies on American contracts. We assist in drafting contracts, reviewing and adjusting contracts, and negotiating with your American business partner – or often their legal department – about the contracts, so that you get a result that you are comfortable with and can understand.
